Worlds 2025 - team HKG makes history
Hong Kong made history yesterday at the Optimist World Championship when Margaux Nguyen-Minh secured a 3rd place podium finish in the girls division. We are thrilled for Margaux and on behalf of HKODA and all members, we'd like to pass on our heartfelt congratulations. This is an incredible achievement and serves as an inspiration to all our sailors in Hong Kong.
This is a record breaking year for team Hong Kong, ranking 14th out of 52 in the Nations Cup at the Worlds. Our team of 5 girls all ranked in the top 20 in the girls division and inside the top 40% overall.
And to top it all off, Jessica Liu secured a beautiful bullet in the last race of the silver fleet in very challenging light and shifty conditions.
Margaux Nguyen-Minh - 3rd girl, 31st overall
Jessica Liu - 9th girl, 77th overall
Chantal Henriksson - 12th girl, 86th overall
Tara Maliah - 18th girl, 104th overall
Alix Nguyen-Minh - 20th girl, 107th overall,
